Nocturnal Lover

Dark chamber with no sound

Echoes of the past haunting

And every now and then

My cry for help.

Your nails hit the wall

Touch all four walls

But, you stay outside.

Sudden sound freezes me

And I know it's you.

Now, I am safe.

Your presence comforts me

And tears me, all the same.

I never see you.

Albeit feel you, close.

I cry a lot more when you

Visit me at night.

A feeling of betrayal

When I look at the daylight.

Your darkness blankets me

Gives me a warmth

That daylight never gives.

I want to see you again

And in the dark, this time

With my eyes closed.
