No One Has It

we hear metal to metal; element to element; bone to bone.

we hear building up and revering of what we will abandon within a decade.

we hear the birds and convince our selves that they are spun-sugar and not crumpled paper. we have done to our elders what we have done to our trees- cut and stacked them in a wheelchair.

we now do to our earth what we did to our animals- cut and milked them a quarter too much.

we lash, leash and latch ourselves to the ground which always seems to say, no I don’t mind, go ‘head.

we employ and point the drill at the wrong things.

we will do this till the time we are born in a hospice and dead in our mothers’ arms.

we will do this till the time the Ocean is satiated and it grows itself fangs.

we will do this till the time we will have to beg each other of the things NoOne has.
