Nightmare In Your Street

Your figure is encircled by the night

The mist settles in with hardly a fight

A wind picks up a tune

You’ll be asleep soon

The clock strikes two

A knock you wonder for who

Visible are the nails first

From the heavens above you are cursed

Turning away, you hope it’ll go away

That’s what they all say

Next is the dirt on your bed

Annoyed you think the knock fled

The nails dig in your skin

Gasping for air you see ground above your chin

It’s too late for anybody to hear

You mutter your last prayer

Open finally are your eyes

You sigh of relief as nobody cries

A nightmare it seems

You turn over in your bed absent of screams

But then even if it’s far

And even more bizarre

You hear a knock

And the clock turns at two o’clock
