The local F & B biz is gone with a closure of 200+ food business shutting down monthly . 

In 2024, a total of 3,047 F&B businesses shut down, the highest annual figure since 2005, according to data from the Accounting and Corporate Regulatory Authority. 

The spate of closures continued into the first quarter of 2025, with household brands such as Eggslut, Manhattan Fish Market and Burger & Lobster throwing in the towel. Chinese hotpot chain Haidilao also shuttered three outlets earlier this year after a period of rapid expansion. ( as accordingly to reports in Singapore )

The over heads and manpower costs will drain u dry . Rentals are sky-rocketing with diners not showing up and ordering less .

The worst kind of business to run are F&B restaurants , high rentals with the landlords laughing happily to the bank . Sweeping tariffs by US President Donald Trump could dampen business sentiment and rental growth.

These are life simple hacks , another tip – if it is on the 2^nd storey , just take the stairs . Lastly , do not save on mattress and shoes , you are in either one of them anytime .
