'n Gebed vir die vrou
Vandag gee ons aan alle vroue die eer
En met blydskap en aanbidding sê ons
Dankie liewe Heer,
Vir hierdie mooi mensies so sag en so teer.
Want elke dag staan hul vas,
Om Huis en herd bymekaar te las.
Die hande sag, die rug gebuig
Die oë gevestig op die kruis.
Met sade van onmin wat om ons ontvou
Kan Niks hulle stut nie, hul staan getrou.
Die vraag wat dan aan ons lippe hang,
hoekom maak ons vroue, die mansmens so bang?
Ons dink aan al die slagoffers, nou en dan
Wat hul lewe moes opoffer, danksy 'n man.
Soveel name, die lys... dit hou nie op.
Soveel pyn, soveel skade, dit sit in my krop.
En met 'n Hart vol seer en vol van rou
Smeek ons Heer, bewaar die vrou.
Hou haar vas en onder die bloed
Sy verdien dit Heer, sy is net goed.
Vandag gee ons aan alle vroue die eer
En met blydskap en aanbidding sê ons
