My Seraph

It was all ineffable to me,

Laying supine,

Looking up at the dark sky,

The night sky so dark,

Draping out all the moonlight,

A wistful, somber sight.

But, there it shone,

The binding luminescence surrounded me,

Something divine,

Something pure,

Something supernal.

There it was, my seraph.

It lit up my way,

An ethereal angel, my very own angel.

She took me, took me away, into the clouds, the deep-surreal clouds, guiding my way up to the heaven.

What did I do to deserve this?

Through the foggy mists, distressing darkness, she took me all the way long, holding onto me, her mellifluous sound pouring into my ears, a remedy.

What did I do to deserve this?

Her eyes, I could drown in them,

Her voice, it sounded surreal, absolutely heavenly.

Her presence, radiated serenity.

She was my serendipity.

A feeling of perplexity gushed through me, why did I feel so safe in her arms?

Why, why did she give me a sense of stillness?

I realized, she was my seraph, my very own seraph.

What did I do to deserve this?

I had to reside back to earth.

I had to prove my worth.

A sudden realization struck me,

Her angelic aura, it screamed purity.

I did nothing to deserve her.

The darkness sucked the hope out of me once again,

The stars mocked me, once again.

But, there it shone,

The blinding luminescence surrounded me,

Something as bright as the sun,

A heavenly figure drifted down towards me,

“There, the sky’s waiting for you. Let us go, hold my hand”, she spoke, as she shone, filling me with inexplicable tranquility.

I took her hand, as she guided me towards the deep-surreal clouds, once again,

She brought the ‘me’ back, once again,

As I let myself disappear into the trail of the supernal clouds, holding onto the seraph, my very own seraph.

My mom.
