My name is Monika

I will not break, I will not fold

I will not succumb to the lies that were told

I will not hide, I will not cower

While you cast judgement from your ivory tower

I will scream from the top of all the world

He was a titan, I was nothing more than a girl

A lifetime ago, an ingenue

Unpaid intern at 22

A promising career in the oval room

Bombshell revelation - he’s not a mentor but a groom

Politician’s pledge of professional bliss

Securing the deal with his Judas kiss

Not a single soul pleading - “it’s enough, no more”

Instead The entire world echoing “what a whore”

Not a journalist reporting any better

Pinning me to the ground, branding that Scarlett letter

A lifetime of shaming - she’s such a slut

What A burdensome cross to bear for a presidents’ misconduct

Scandal, lies, deceit

Praying I’ll admit defeat

A predator - always up for dispute

Let’s Victim blame instead - temptress, no, a prostitute

Betrayal, duplicity, treason

Bargaining for my freedom

Full disclosure in exchange for immunity

Still, I did not break, I barely bent the knee…

My name will taunt you for all eternity
