My Lovely Granny
By Devansha Dhanker
Today I visited the house of my granny,
And found out that the weather there was rainy.
It made my mood even worse,
Oh! How much I loved my granny’s verse.
I had always loved the food made by her on the clay stove,
And the sweaters that she wove.
The way she smiled at my mistake,
Seemed as if she was swimming in a blissful lake.
Too busy I my schedule, don’t know how did I dare,
To not even once take up her care.
Always chasing in life one thing or other,
Couldn’t gather the time to gossip with her.
Now I feel as if I have lost something invaluable,
For achieving something that she told in her fable.
Every achievement in this world has some importance,
But not more than those who have always given us preference.
Because even if you have achievements with no one to celebrate,
With whom would you share the feeling that makes you feel great?
So, everyone should take care of their family members,
Especially those who are the senior most elders.
Also, it’s said that “precaution is better than cure”,
Because, believe me! Some things have no cure.
