6. My Fussy Wife - A poetic lament

My fussy wife will always be

Nagging until the death of me

Giving orders with aggression

Don't know when to use discretion

Partly it is due to my fault

Outside she is mouse of a sort

Gave her courage to boss around Became habit to bark & hound

Two sitting rooms will be just nice Thomas in Melbourne is that wise He can enjoy himself in peace

Rosie can shout but he just sneeze

Morning routine I now follow

Must get things done before she shows Arrange plates boil oats & water Wipe tablewash cups do matter

Her habit to give instructions

Way from far end of the kitchen Switches the fan from fast to slow TV volume loud to soft tone

Forgetfulness comes with rebuke This old man sometimes need to puke Holding back for peace in the house Final peace will be underground

Note: Every line has 8 syllables. A husbands’ way to let off steam
