My Broken Pieces

“Loathe it or love it!

you know, you have to bear it

The pain, somewhere in your spine

The pain that makes you insane”

I say to myself!

Not the head, nor in the heart

It rains in the intricate jumble

The web of nerves, the curves

Deep down makes a rumble

Is it you? I ask

Has it been you? I ask again

Will it be you? I plead now!

How long! How pathetic!

This sadistic you and stoic me!

Give me a respite, O' this disquiet

I fumble, I tumble and I stumble.

Now don’t let me crumble,

My healer, the stealer of my calm

I crave for my inner peace,

the peace I get in pieces

Broken pieces of my heart!

I fix them, I stitch them, I hold them close

But I curse them too, like they do

For squandering my life

in bits and pieces.

The broken pieces falling apart!
