My Best Friend

I have heard people say that lovers come and go

I admit I couldn't agree more

for on any rainy day there is only one who stands close

my best friend, not a man holding a rose

They say sometimes soulmates aren't romantic

I admit couldn't agree more

because I laugh the most around her

my best friend, Never the man i've wanted to hold

“Keep her close” I've been told

I say i'll try the most

to appreciate every moment, every instant in time

whether we are in school or busy committing a crime

This year marks 10 years since when we met

We’ve been through it all and still kept

every secret, every promise that we swore

to take to our grave, Who would need anything more ?

Its unexplainable as to how she knows,

every word,every feeling in my mind

better than I know of my own

and yet, if you'd ask id, only say she has to grow

She's just reached 5 feet, it's scary

how any vulture in the sky could devour her quite easily,

I’d pay any amount of money to watch this sight to see

though I admit, it would be very very ghastly

Such is the humor the two of us hold,

no matter what I say, honestly she knows

that she's irreplaceable and more valuable than gold

I'll keep her very close, just as I have been told.
