Multifaceted Mirrors

Updated: Sep 2

By Vinayak Ramesh

Within the mirror’s haven, a myriad scenes unfold,

Reflections of humanity, a river of emotions to be told.

A portal for introspection, where journeys take flight,

Both strengths and struggles bask in its light.

Some gaze at mirror with eyes full of despair,

Carrying the burdens they can’t share.

Listening to confessions whispered near,

A mirror listens, without judgment or fear.

Some flex their muscles, and curves in the mirror’s reflection,

While the obese or skinny veil their strength with dissatisfaction.

In the mirror's stare, imperfections unfurl,

Pimples flourish, hair's retreat, wrinkles that swirl.

A canvas of vulnerability, skin tells its tale,

Insecurities arise, like a cyclone’s sail.

In the vast mirror’s realm, insecurities might play,

As flaws are magnified in the light of day.

Yet apprehensions too, sometimes take flight,

As they judge their reflection, seeking the ray of light.

But underneath the surface, strength resides,

In every esteem and blemish, life's journey abides.

Mirror's gaze may stir sorrow's brief embrace,

Yet resilience blooms, as destiny finds its place.

So much more than a glass, it's a canvas for souls,

A reflection of stories, making life's fragments whole.

A mirror is a silent witness, to life's intricate weave,

Reflecting human essence, as they conceive.
