Mr Doe

I laid Mr Doe, John Doe, Jim Doe…I Doe Know

Into his indigent chip-board box

His final resting place, where he could be warm from the cold

And no, he was not old, just a child in my eyes who travelled many roads

Maybe his mother loved him only on the day he was born

She cuddled him and embraced him and made him feel safe

Or maybe he became the bane of her existence

A burden too much to bear

I wonder if he ever felt love, was he ever loved?

Did he experience the love of a stranger

And had he ever looked down the barrel of a loaded gun

When he stole a loaf of bread to eat

I looked at Mr Doe in his castle, many would say this is his castle!

His Place, his space, his final rest pace from all the ugly

I think he will be fine now.
