Mountain Suspended Over The Sea

I saw the mountain

As I stared at the sea

The mountain lay suspended

Hovering over the sea

It was laced with questions

Nay beseeched with them

The questions that were conjured like wisps of fresh air

Plumes of my thoughts that wafted from me

In these questions lies bare my existence

The never-ending dance

Nay the battle of worldviews

And of varied experiences

Wonder where I birthed

This insatiable zeal to mould

And build a structure that melds the world

Shapes our time and imprints the generation

Why was I not happy?

Being one amongst my folks

Amongst the many milling faces

Who care for kids

For domesticity

And lifelong mates

Even when I am

Not even half begun

On the path to salvation

With the edifice as distant

As it looked at the outset

Why am I miscast

Burning with frenzy unmatched

For the platform

For the canvas that lasts beyond bounds

For the lever that holds key to my pivot

Why am I not rooted, immobile like many?

Or else moving at a crazier clip

Building in spades

The edifices I seek

Am I lost between the yin and yang?

Or is the process the only answer

Honing one’s tools

Not losing sight of the eventual push

In my mountain

That floats above the neighbourly sea

I hoard my questions

My dreams, my desires

My conundrums

Shovels of restlessness

And rivers of dreams

Tales Of unbroken reverie

And never-ending debates

My mountain grows

Basks in many colours

Draping with the same ease

The rainbow hovering over the sea

And the sombre storm clouds

So when you see a mountain floating over the sea

You will sense my dreams

My battles with my inner self

The unbroken journeys to uncharted lands

It grows every moment

And sings a silent song

So, listen in my fellow traveller

And cherish the song

I and my mountain

Will stay afloat

On land and sea

Spinning our own webs

From boat full of questions
