"Mothers of Missing Sons"

Silent heartbeats of unsung heroes- echo louder than any chorus.

Who left us behind feel no grief;

the survivors are real sufferers.

What despondency would it be to receive a letter,

on a day alive and bright,

To lose all sense of blithe, as you might.

The butterflies in gardens flutter no more,

only breath grows weary and thin,

Blossoming gardens turn gray,

and you count on all your sins.

For in the foggy façade of forlorn farms,

Mourns a crestfallen mother,

she no more sees the sun or moon,

Only considers her life a dreadful boon.

Blue blood flows in her now;

soon her hair will turn dead and gray.

She still mourns her son in the fog,

and waits for death to knock on her door any day.
