I opened my senses wide

To fuel my thoughts that wouldn't subside

What is mother's love?It asked me

As I glanced at my baby ,2 days old, a she

What is constant but change, for ages

Yet mother's love is constant in all stages

All literature, advertisements, and songs rushed in

All described mother's love as timeless

It was true, It was.

The last crumb of food which could quench her hunger was yours Even if you never asked!

Her eyelids pulled to close as the tired body and mind pleaded for rest, But she ignored it , cos you had a deadline set.

All her dreams and passions stood froze in time

Unknown when to be unfrozen cause it was you she had to take care of all fine!

Always focussed on you as her mind and body threatened to wither But she didn't pause either

Her heart filled with love for you

Her mind thinking with love for you

Her body always ready to do anything for you

A great soul, Always selfless for you!

What is constant but change, for ages

Yet mother's love is constant in all stages.

Is this all? I wondered,

A mother's infinite love can never stop with this

It cannot be defined so small

These are the creamy layer but there is other side to all. I looked down at my sleeping daughter again,

An angel she was! I was ready to give up myself for her! But that is when I realised.

That's not where my love stops.

I would do anything and everything for her

I won't let anything make her simmer

But there are things to do further.

At times, With all my love clinging on I have to let her go, Because many instances the outside world has to show, Even if my heart writhes in pain seeing her fall,

I must stop and watch her get up and rise more tall!

Guide her through life but let her learn and prepare

Teach her to keep it together when life decides to tear Last but not the least;

I take care of myself, both body and mind, Because I'm her MOTHER

If i go ,there is not another she can find!
