Mother Earth’s Promise

By Ankita P. R.

The leaves of spring blossoms withered, while hazy clouds wept as though they had never known the regiment of pain. The mighty fire grew to flames, trembling at the beauty life dared to hold. Water, ever traumatized by the sun, traced deep, shallow paths, never to be seen again. The motherland, which carried all of life, was broken and dying, longing for the part of existence where hurtful truths and sweet lies might coexist, where the cruel epitome of life’s struggles could finally be understood.

Yet, if one sought daylight amidst the gloomy mass of darkness, perhaps they would find an abode of heaven — clear skies and tears of pure joy — or a place so hidden that even the devil could not discern what is and what is not.

Amid the succumbing fraternity of existence, there glimmered a faint light. Mother Earth vowed to keep her promise, to besiege the world with her bliss.
