Mother Divine

By Sumedha Gupta

If you could look at your reflection in the water

You would see a tigress

A tigress ruled by no one but the gods themselves

Divine energy dancing in the wild

A soul one with nature

A soul one with god

Laughing in ripples

Wailing with the wind

Raging in tsunamis

Belonging in the mountains

You are beautiful in your strength

Oh mother divine

Let me in on the secret of your power

Every blow you crush with your chest

Oh mother divine

Oh my tigress

I worship at your claws

Bless me with a scar

I will carry it on my face

Like you do yours

I am, but, a lowly human;

And a goddess resides in my temple.

When she is happy-

The world is mine to conquer.

When she is sad-

Life itself seems worthless.

When she is angry-

Fire out of my gaze.

When she loves,

She shows you how gods love.

I will blossom at your sight,

I will become eternal on your touch.

Oh! Mother divine–

You are the source of my life.

Me a fool, for thinking i could rule.

You are one with nature,

One with God.

Oh the goddess of me–

I pray at your feet,

I lay at your feet.
