More than Pets

The touch so warm

The feeling so cozy

The purr so soothing

Our hearts are melting

Relief washes over

Like waves over sand

The mind so relaxed

All burdens set aside

To talk and talk for hours on end

To shed tears of sorrow and joy

Never saying a single word,

Yet able to still a wandering heart.

It’s amazing what love can do

Especially a friend so true to you

Cats, dogs, hamsters or fish

Each one brings a heart its peace.
