Moon And The Poet's Heart

Somedays I become the lines of my own poetry, Happy and full of melody, Somedays I am the spaces between them, Pain that is unuttered vocally.

Somedays I am the full moon, Full of light for which admirers swoon, Somedays the half , crescent or to disappear in gloom, To crawl back into my own cocoon.

Is there a difference between the moon and a poet's heart,

Both are never constant in form or art,

Both appear close to the beholder but are miles apart,

Yet their distance is the disguise for their melancholic part.
