Mood Swings
By Manoj Mathur
I do not know why my beloved’s mood changes by the hour
Like, during monsoon, the sun and moon play hide and seek
Being extra sensitive, one may feel hurt by a mere joke
Face streaked with tears, and breathing in short gaps
Even if I mildly smile, misery deepens further
Child-like innocence reigns supreme
Even though she has grown up into a young lady
Silent stoic people keep their anger bottled up inside
Better to walk away from the emotional volcanic slide
Never make an issue of your friends’ shortcomings
Recognise his exceptional gifts as well
Transparent kindness, love, generosity and humour
Agreed you are good, but ask yourself
Are you good enough without any ifs and buts
Never forget, there are many a slip between cup and lips
