Monkey Feel

This is about peeling back the layers of the mind

And unravelling the lie called man-kind

Picture a monkey for me, would you?

Really, birth a primate and give him some ape shit to do

Before he goes apeshit on you

Swing him from trees

Teach him about the birds and the bees

And give him three beans and a banana to eat

Seat

His ass on a branch

And let him have a life

before you -

Ditch the hair

Drop the tail and

Please Introduce the fear of failure

Tell him about the Yeezys

And how to love thy neighbour

Maybe let him

Raise the bar and write some

Kidnap his neighbour's kid and demand some ransom

You'll see that man and monkey

Are bunk mates

The same flawed primates

If only opposable thumbs were a cure to being dumb

Homo erectus would turn around

If he knew how often man's actions warrant a frown

And how little we have to smile about

Only 8 miles and maad cities

But for all the poetry we read and write

We still can't ignite a simple truth

That love felt will be love shared

And love lost leaves us impaired

Drowning in insecurities

Projected onto deities

And modern-day guillotines

What are you trying to say?

Monkey call you fat because monkey feel chunky

Monkey has a chip on his shoulder

Because monkey's older brother got more cake than he did

So if we remove bad parents

Or become good ones

We could kill all the karens

They are a nuisance

But maybe heal instead of kill?

So afraid to dig your heels into the ground?

Blood has always been spilled to change what's around

Why are the woke scared when the blind are bold as hounds

Beckoning blood with surround sound

Of hate speeches that sound like love letters

So why is the thinking man never a go-getter?

It's all screwed

And the best thing to do is be amused

Maaaan I don't even know what to say to you anymore

Why bring up the world's problems if you can't solve them?

Good people need good endings to read

I should have hit delete before letting these words breed

Now this submission will only be an omission

With our poem wound up

Let's round up the villainous words that only want to defy con-form-ity

And ask in unison, "Are you crazy?"

And I'm too lazy

To hide it
