When eyes meet

And it is shorter still

When the words spoken are sweet

A moment lasts but a heartbeat

When the air feels light

When joy uplifts the soul

And it all feels right

And it does pass

Within the blink of an eye

For all things good

Oh, so very sly

Then why does it drag on

When all hopes die

When dreams shatter

And the soul is left to cry
