Missing Love

i sit by the window,

a cup of coffee in my hand

i wrap a blanket,

around myself

i stare out the window,

at the world

and i feel like i don’t exist anymore

i feel like i don’t live anymore

i think…

i’m hanging onto the edge

i’m barely surviving

i’m merely thriving

and i know…

i miss my mom’s hugs

i miss my dad’s jokes

i miss my brother’s chaff

and i realise…

i miss just more than that

and my days have been so rough

that i don’t have anything to talk of

i realise…

it’s because i’m missing love.
