Mirror Mirror On The Wall
By Varshaa Mohan
Behold this visage, in the glass I see,
A tapestry of women’s history.
The bravery of my mothers past,
Their struggles, hopes, and dreams that last.
The generations of their strength,
Their courage helped me find my length.
The grace of those who came before,
Reflects in me now evermore.
The strength, the courage, and the will,
That has been passed down, a legacy still.
From woman to woman, through time and space,
We carry forward, our lineage's grace.
The beauty of the women I behold,
In the mirror's glass will never grow old.
Their spirit, courage, and strength of heart,
Lives through me, a timeless art.
The glass, it glimmers with a thousand stories
Of women, who have passed and left their glories
Mirror, mirror on the wall,
My reflection looks back and tells me all
Of stories from the women who came before,
I can see them in my face, a lineage of lore.
From the queen of England who bore a crown,
To the African woman who was taken down,
From the suffragettes who fought for rights,
To the mothers who raised their children day and night.
From queens to poets, mothers to maids,
Each woman’s story is unique and made,
From diverse backgrounds and cultures,
Their stories are often untold in vultures.
The strength of her character and soul,
The courage and resilience she did hold.
From the spark of her ambition and dreams,
To the depths of despair that it seemed.
It is in the mirror I see,
The stories of women before me,
That remind me of the power I hold,
To make a difference and be so bold.
