Mirage

"Hold my hand tightly."

I whispered to the 'courage'.

And with a backpack of 'hope',

I ran to the 'MIRAGE'.

People around called me blind,

To see something which was nowhere

but in my mind.

Oh how this heart jested,

"I am strong enough to handle everything,

Just do as I directed!"

With crossed fingers and trembling body,

I took every step forward.

While reciting prayers with closed eyes,

I realised behaving like a coward.

"Whatever happens, happens!"

Said the brave girl in me while opening the eyes.

Desert was the only thing I witnessed,

and the people ran to this shattered girl as she cries.

"Crying won't help to make the things better dear!"

Ahh how should I tell them that

the heartbreak was not only mine,

But everyone's biggest fear.

"How heavy it feels even after being empty!"

Is such a big irony I then realised.

I alert you my friend,

fantasizing can really really make you

emotionally paralysed!

So here I am,

shaking hands with the people

having red swollen eyes and sleepless nights.

But I am somehow grateful

to feel the things I have never felt and hence,

Can't earlier write!
