What if the sky were to change colour

Every day

Not just a morning periwinkle

Not just an evening persimmon

Lavender lemon mint green mauve

Pastels all

With coloured baubles glittering in the sky

Carnelian emerald cola stars

To melt on your tongue

And chorals of heavenly music

To please every ear

At intervals

Wouldn't life be sweetened

Wouldn’t death be lightened

Only if all logic was cast off

And night sky emptied out

Of constellations
