Mir, Ek Khat Tumhare Naam - A Letter From A 21st Century Poet In Delhi

By Ishika Kachhwaha

Mir,

Tumhare sheher me mohabatton ke gul udte hai,

Jahaan kadam milte hai, wahaan qafan milte hai |

Jo na ho uski kyon ho arzu?

Ye jazba-e-Ishq bhi, hum tumhi se rakhte hai |

Likhe ho Mir tum chahe jis kisi ke liye,

Par kisi aur ke liye nahi, Hum khudi ke liye likhte hai |

Zamaano baad hai shayar hum bhi issi dilli me,

Zamaano baad bhi yaha shayar, qisse waise hi likhte hai |

Har kisi ko kahaan adaa rehmat-e-mehfil, Iqraar-e-khuda, nazar-e-riha,

Daftar jaate hai, hum kitaabo mein raat me likhte hai |

Mir, gardishein puri hui, ab rok de syaahi?

Likne likhne me hum, murjhaen gulo ke masle likh dete hai |

Khushnaseeb ho ki aana mat iss dilli me,

Yaha ab bhi mehboob, waise hi pathhar dil rakhte hai |
