Midnight Ruminations

Let me tell you a telling tale,

Of a broken man, torn apart.

Like a clueless sailor, setting sail,

In the sea of darkness, squall apart.

They say that the mirror cried,

A glance in the morning, noon and night.

And the walls asked what hurt thy pride,

And the answer lay in the hindsight.

Trudging troubled waters, a decade of despondence,

Akin a lifeless feather, sans control, sans respite.

Screeching soul, bleeding heart, crying oh providence!

Amid dark days and sleepless nights, an angelic sight!

Sight of a lass, toucheth thy innermost from afar,

And words, soft and harsh, bringeth that impact, O delight!

For melody in her voice, beat the silence of mountains as far,

For freshness of her proximity, fadeth breeze of rainy night.

A majestic tread down the heavenly stair,

Like Athena, speaking reason after reason.

To touch his life, with her eyes, o glare!

With a smile, filled with joy, all that breaks an internal prison.

And closer as you get, the warmer you feel,

For manners so spirited, thy heart skip a beat.

And farther as you go, the closer you feel,

For words as resounding as Beethoven's beat .

And trust that thousands came and left,

And convinced that thousands may come and go.

And yet, none so appealing, radiant, and tempest,

That touch thy life, thy soul and selflessly so.
