Midnight Bruises

Updated: Sep 3

By Hemavathy T A

It's 5:30 pm,

When he left her burning,

She realized that's a turning,

To anyone it must be a cozy eve,

But she is in so much grief.

As if threaded by sweet like bead,

The words felt so pure,

She thought it will always be a cheer up,

But it is made with some poisonous syrup.

Now her heart in a mess,

She literally had no guess,

Standing by the lake,

Her body felt a shake.

Messy hair with puffy eyes,

Sudden rain to cover her tears,

Went home with a fake smile,

Stayed silent for a while.

She battles with nightmares,

Or with a sleepless night,

He left her with midnight bruises,

That's the day sunshine was killed.
