Memory Lane

I took a trip down memory lane, A journey where nothing is ever the same. Not exactly a lane, but a corridor, An infinite line of door after door, I open one and enter a room, A memory of a moment, a girl, her perfume. This is one room, there are so many, Whenever I want I choose from any. Endless moments to sit and remember, Real life to memories are instantly rendered. The people I've loved, the things I've seen, The countless number of places I've been. Yet the memories in life which I most cherish, I reflect upon less often, for fear they will perish. With constant exposure out in the open, A special moment will inevitably be broken. Nostalgia in life is something true, For moments don't last but memories do. After a while when I've had enough, Re enter a world so harsh and rough. To experience life and know some more, More memories I have to add to the store. I close a door and go out again, Retrace my steps down my memory lane.
