Memories
By Manoj Mathur
Memories like speedy haze pass through very dim on the screen of my mind
Thoughts with speed formed often abort with no follow-up action of any kind
The reluctant wakeup in the early morning descends into lazy noon
Then back in the bed in the night like a motionless stone
Neither any thoughts framed nor any actions performed by the body's flesh and bone
Pleasures in life come like summer thunder rains
Fast whisked away by hot summer winds
Leave behind dusty clouds of gloom in the eyes without twinkling the lids
Genuine happiness always burns out of the womb of the satisfaction and perfection
Temporary, transient, insecure, and uncertain are all products of worldly reactions and the connections
The little unseen bird perhaps from the deep inside whispers " No need to go to Himalaya, church, temple or the mosque
There is no more sacred place than your own home
Where day and night, through all the four seasons you stay
May it not be a princely palace or grand villa
May it be an apology or even a straw hut
