Do you see beyond droplets, when it rains;

Do you sense beyond thorns, when plucking a rose pains?


Do you feel beyond dirt, while stepping on moist mud;

Do you see beyond water, when there’s a flood?


Do you see beyond fun, in a timid animal’s run;

Do you smell beyond smoke, when the forests burn?



Do you hear beyond sounds, while Nature pleads,

Shouts aloud, begs for life, wanting to flee…


Today, it sat down with me, for a whispered colloquy

Sang to me, its calamitous melancholy

Cautioned me and said, “I’m immortal, while you may not be…”
