Mariachi
By B P Rachiti
The summer neared and the hate grew worse
The sweat was being engulfed
And the truth beginning to be swallowed
The shadows drowned about after midnight
And gave light to stars and dimly lit houses
Illumination was stark and direction worse
Life grew out of the mere trenches of distress
And the sun, the next day brought no joy
The noise was pollution
And the fares made cheaper to be expensively ridiculed
The touch that embraced life was taken away
And the silence was merely a blessing
The crossroads were shattered
And the weariness now showed to see no console
The dreams of side paths so perplexed
That the inevitable doom did all but wither away
The soul however made a calling
And the body obliged
And the stars distant yet the closest it had ever been
The sun shone too bright but the darkness against the cloudy day saw no remorse
The deep seated insecurities brought back to life
The noise was revived
Now it rained finally to see the rainbow
The rainbow that was admired only at rain, sun and clouds meeting
The shower was new even though the city the same as it had been for years.
However it now saw a shine that many seemed to die but
Only because they were something that they could not admire
The shower was it.
The final call basked in was glory
Finally free and emitted off the worries
Finally dancing to shed the final worry!
