Made In Heaven
By Alok Singh
It was a made in heaven,
so said the priest.
The parents nodded,
and all enjoyed the feast.
For days they couldn’t understand,
where their relationship stand.
He called her Mrs. Wife,
she replied with Mr. Husband.
He had a job he loved,
which now appears a lie.
Household was forced on her,
though her best daily she did try.
Soon relatives gathered,
and demand for a boy was raised.
Boy they got,
and for the first time she was praised.
He had now to earn more,
and she to care more.
Cracks began to appear,
as their patience tore.
They skipped their forties,
they didn’t even know.
Only after their boy was taken away,
they realized time’s blow.
Now occasionally they hold hands,
as they never did before.
They now exist for each-other,
unbeknownst each-other they adore.
Still often one says,’If this is made in heaven,
then heaven don’t exist.”
Other remarks,’If this is made in heaven,
then heaven must exist’.
Then both will laugh,
clarifying their stand.
Though one may be made in heaven,
but it must be maintained on Land.
