Unfocused eyes.

Your blurry face.

A thousand shadows surrounded me.

My hands surrounded you,

Like they always had.

The crowd turned to whispers

As my ears strained

To hear an echo of your laugh,

To fight the shadows

Of the darkness setting in.

Your blood seeped into my clothes as I pushed the knife,

A twisted tale of true love ended with your life.
