Love like Sunflowers

The Sunflowers show me the way of love, as I see them rooted beneath the same sky, What they tell me reshapes my thoughts, and leaves me with a truth I can't deny-

"We stand firm, facing the sun,

resting in the warmth it gives.

In it's glow, our petals bloom,

In golden light, our spirit lives.

But as the sun slowly dies,

and light starts slipping away.

Our petals no longer blooming,

and our hopes begin to sway.

That's when we turn to one another,

to make it through the dark.

Side by side, we hope and wait,

to see again the morning's spark.

Endlessly through every day and night,

we stay and live our lives as one.

Finding light in each other's company,

under heavy storms and clear sun".

Maybe this is what love truly looks like,

someone to hold onto through it all.

Lighting each other through the dark,

and never letting one another fall.

Maybe a partner is meant to be like a Sunflower,

someone who bends, but do not part.

Someone who chooses me in every moment,

with roots that hold us heart to heart.

Maybe love should be like Sunflowers.

No matter where the roads lead,

or the seasons fall.

We find each other every time,

and answer to our call.
