Love Can Hurt Sometimes

You love like there’s no tomorrow

But all it does is bring you sorrow

He let you go like it didn’t hurt

Yet you lay down every night in his his shirt

The sky seems darker

The stars don’t shine anymore

All there is now left of me

Is scattered all around the floor

With time I’ll forget all the times I called you mine

But love can hurt sometimes….

We were in love or were we

Funny to think you were my everything

My love, my heart, my faith all I’m ready to bid

But the pain doesn’t leave, unlike you did

The mirrors don’t lie

Yet cannot show what’s on the inside

Same way you carry on without me

But it seems like you didn’t even have to try

When your deserted me, it was a sign of the times

But love can hurt sometimes….

“YOU” are the only contemplation

A void I try to fill everyday

It’s over now

But still the “WHY” is what I contemplate

You ask me whether I’m doing ok

Knowing exactly what I would say

Don’t play your games no more

I’ve lost it all and my stage is now bare

Loving you at times felt like a crime

My curtain calls one last time

Love can hurt sometimes….
