Longing.....

You walked in like a blessing,

Meant to walk out like a stranger.

I was a distraction,

Still I felt,

Still I hoped.

But you’ll leave,

Walk away,

Leaving me to dread.

I hear the rain,

But not you.

I hear everything,

But not you.

I pretend it’s you,

But it’s never you.

Hoping to stay,

Meant to leave,

That’s all we’ll ever be,

A long lost dream.
