Long Forgotten
By Drishtee Shah
there must be more to this mundane textbook life
please do not tell me that one day i won't witness a strange glow in the darkness of a gloomy night, and discover a portal to a world so mystical, a world where even flowers may be befriended,
and old trees standing tall with their roots reaching the innermost depths of our homely earth whisper priceless wisdom
am i to really accept the evanescence of this life?
tell me you don't hope to go fishing one day, only to run into a mesmerizing mermaid, with scales strikingly similar to the purple hue of the sky after a stormy day
to take her hand as she leads you on the most magical venture your eyes have ever seen
is it not alright to dream of a world where i simply coexist?
is it not within my rights to hope for an escape?
i want to explore the hidden caves in a vast mountain, and for it lead me to the comfort of an enthralling civilization
i seek for a place where my days aren't restricted to the 'norm'
a place where dreams brew in every lifeless corner
and where indispensable knowledge flows from the minds of all beings
ah, to discover a stone with enchanting shades of white and gold
to hold it dear and wait for it to show me the entrance gate
the gate to a reality which seemingly doesn't exist
a gate guarded by a dog lost to time
a gate which leads me to the place where imagination still thrives
a place where the expanse of space and time bends to your delicate touch
tell me now, you who was once made amongst the countless beaming stars
does your soul still not ache to find the long forgotten entrance gate?
