Little Things

It’s about those little things.

The ones that we take for granted.

The hot coffee that finds us at sunrise.

The soft smiles they give us at summer highs.

The highs of friendship, love, and of devotion.

The sighs of failure, pain, and of commotion.

Is it too little to be by their side?

Through the thick, the thin, and all that they let slide.

Or is it,

The fiery red blaze that everyone so greatly sought?

Or the soft blue that alchemy taught us is hot?

Is it those long nights of endless desires?

Or the shorter ones that make us conspire?

Is it the grand gestures drawn on the moon?

Or the soliloquy on red earth’s doom?

Are they the ones that really flatter?

Or am I the one who is really at falter?

Is it not the tiny poems that smell of warm kisses?

The morning and evening spent in blisses?

Or am I the one who’s wrong, so lost?

Is it not the little things that matter the most?
