Lila and The Little Seed

Lila loved the garden behind her school. Every day, she watered the flowers, pulled out weeds, and watched the butterflies dance among the petals. One sunny morning, she noticed a tiny seed lying in the soil. It was smaller than a grain of rice, but Lila decided she would help it grow.
“Don’t worry, little seed,” she whispered. “I’ll teach you how to grow big and strong.”
The next day, Lila showed the seed how to drink water from the soil. She sang songs to it, told it stories, and even shaded it with a little paper umbrella when the sun was too hot. Day by day, the seed began to sprout.
One afternoon, her friend Ben came by. “Why are you talking to a seed?” he asked.
“It’s learning from me,” Lila said with a smile. “I’m helping it grow!”
Ben frowned. “I don’t think a seed can learn like that.”
Lila thought for a moment. “Maybe not like we do, but it learns from care, attention, and love. That’s what mentoring is all about—helping someone grow in their own way.”
Weeks passed, and the little seed grew into a tall sunflower, its golden petals reaching for the sky. Ben watched in awe. “Wow! You really helped it grow,” he said.
Lila nodded. “Just like a mentor does. We all need a little guidance to shine.”
From that day on, Lila and Ben became garden mentors together, helping seeds, plants, and even their classmates blossom in their own special ways.
