Life Is Race

By Amreen Fatima

Life is Race

Everybody is running, and I am running too

Many things to chase

And I am trying too

In b/w the race, I heard someone

She told me, “I never bother who won.”

I stopped for a while

And found her giving me a smile

Inquiringly I asked, “Who are you?”

Abruptly she replied, “I am part of you.”

Whom you have lost

But do you ever realize at what cost?

Now I was confused about what to say.

Again I asked her question, “Where do you stay?”

Calmly she said, “I waited for you every day.”

But you ignored me, changing your way.

She continued, and I found it fascinating.

Nothing to say; I was listening

I gave it a thought, and what I found

I am alone, and nobody is around.

Then I realize

That I have already won the prize

People are still running, but I have already

Won the race

Thousands of things still to chase

But I found Myself by His Grace.
