Blamed and bruised,

Beaten and broken,

Not once or twice,

Not even thrice or more,

Day after day after day

Not only here,

Not only there,

But all over the world

Rules all for girls,

Names may differ,

The code remains the same

Girls must not laugh,

She must not love,

And no to a dress,

Which they didn’t like

And no to a life,

Where she had a voice

Silent and tamed

That’s what they need

Gone are those days

Now time is here

Let the fire rain

Stay strong and tall

Let the fire burn

Your voice will be heard

Your pain will be known

Let the whole world watch,

Or let them join the fight

But this battle is yours

Let them see the fire
