“Tomorrow is the only day in the year that appeals to a lazy man.” Jimmy Lyons. Procrastination is the trademark of laziness. Laziness is a state in which a person is unwilling to work. Their hobby is “Nothing”. Indolence is comforting for them.
Laziness hampers both, the body and the mind. It is a disease. One of its effects is obesity. Obesity is a medical condition which hinders the day to day activities.
One of the other landslides it creates is idleness. One’s productivity is hampered when idleness besets one. Laziness is an open invitation to unhappiness. When we are indolent, people don’t like our company. They begin to find ways, to avoid being around us, which soon leads to seclusion and isolation.
Some of the ways to avoid laziness are setting goals, always having a positive attitude, asking for help when needed, recognizing your accomplishments and having a practical approach towards life. When I ponder about laziness, the two things that come to my mind are a sloth and a literal couch potato. I quote myself, “The only thing that can destroy laziness is laziness itself.”
