Land Of The East Wind

In the land where the East Wind blows,

There’s a girl facing south,

Where her lover, seaward bound

Has traveled perhaps a thousand miles out.

There she stands, on the shore

Come calm or stormy sea,

With Neither food nor drink she stood,

Poor love lorn lass was she.

The villagers they wondered,

Some pleaded, some talked ,

But the girl facing south heeded none,

Over the oceans she kept watch.

Many years passed, and our hero returned

Him and his victorious band.

He went to meet his girl on the cliff

Alas! All that was left was a pillar of salt and sand.
