Land mine

Every step feels like a trap

Trembling in my boots

Doing everything I can

To avoid triggering you.

Watching from a corner

As you reap each other’s hearts out

As every conversation turns into a battle

With guns loaded but no

Shield

The silence that follows is deafening

The distance, the tension, the hatred

Like a never ending pool of lava

Burning everything in its path

How did we get here?

How did it change?

When did it turn from sunny to thunderstorm

When did I move from saying

I want this

To saying

I hope this never finds me

Was it me?

Was it us?

Was it time?

Was it money?

Or does communication turn to arguments?

Is it normal?

Is it natural?

Can’t I fix this?

Can’t I help you?

Why do I have to watch it all shatter…
