Labyrinth

Sometimes in the dead of night or in the lingering aloofness of the day, I find myself

In the middle of a labyrinth - flummoxed, hopeless, lost.

A labyrinth it is after all, you can never find the exit so easily.

A child's innocence fooled by the tales of rosy roads,

A boy's white maturity betrayed by the fantasy of adventurous travels,

All the fairy roads that the princes rode in our flowery dreams,

Lost their charm now as all ended up in a labyrinth- complex, despairing, endless.

I know not which way to take, nor do the roads entice me anymore;

Because I know, whichever I take shall end in another one,

And it keeps on, in its serpentine ways, to drain all the life out of you.

What is it worth to die myself down running along a mazy road?

But can I sit here - complacent with my grey heart? Doing nothing?

I have millions to please before I die,

Or I'll lose them in the blink of an eye.
