Kind van elders en nerens

Kind van elders en nerens.

Is sy goedheid verstalt of die boosheid self?

Sy dans snags met monsters,

Speel met die wereld se illusie van haarself-

Wyl die ander oog haar eie spieelbeeld beloer.

Sy vind nugterheid in die kranksinnigheid,

En kranksinnigheid in die nugterheid.

Tussen lig en skadu meegesleep,

Wyk sy koud vir die goud –

Amper huiwerig vasgevang in vlamme se dans.

Sal sy troon met n kroon van blomme ?

En die wereld se skoonheid aan haar voete,

Of sal sy sit met n doringkroon –

Gebreekte glass,bloed en swart rose?

Vreemde wesens en waterspuwers

Wyl die oog strak toesien.
