Just The Rain You And Me

By Stephen Mascarenhas

Oh, how I wish I was the cool rain in a gentle shower,

I would be raining on you, to see you bloom like a flower,

I would climb up the mountains and give you the chills,

We'd both dance in the rain and enjoy the sensuous thrills

I would touch you and feel you

I would kiss you and embrace you

I would breathe you; I would smell you

I would soak you in and deeply caress you.

I'd want to wet your long shiny hair, so you could shake me dry,

I'd want to sit on your eyelids and see the glittering in your eye,

Think or blink or even before you wink, I would roll down and drip,

And as I'd roll down your soft cheeks, I would kiss your tender lip.

Up there in the clouds while I sway and calmly glide around,

I wonder if you are looking my way, in your busy life on ground,

High up there in the skies, in the clouds as with them I would ride,

I promise I will find you, even in a crowd if you would run to hide.

Surrounded by sadness and tears, if I ever found you to be,

With the sweet tiny drops of rain, you will hear a whispering me,

While on your own you are alone and I find that the door is locked,

I'd rain so heavily on that door, for you to feel and hear me knock.

If I ever saw you give up on yourself or even feeling distraught

I will rain even heavier and make sure you stood and fought

You know that I love to watch you smile and dance your happy feet

To watch you in your happiest form, I will rain a drumming beat.

So let me the heavy rain fall, with its mighty thunder roars,

For together we will weather and brave the toughest stormy shores.

And when the clouds depart from up there above, the sun shines through,

I will cling like the sweat in your brow, for you to believe me that we made it anew.
